University of the Western Cape, Department of Library and Information Science

The core of the teaching programme of the Department is its BBibl and MBibl Degree programme, which prepares information professionals for all kinds of library and information services. However it has two other programmes - the Lower Diploma in Librarianship, a three year programme mainly educating librarians for community librarianship, and the Diploma in School Librarianship for teachers.
