Department of Bioengineering

Serves as the focal point of engineering activities in the life sciences with a long term vision to contribute to the application of engineering to the solution of problems in medicine and biology. Research laboratories include ultrasound diagnostic imaging, neuro-electrophysiology, electrocardiology, microvascular blood flow, cellular biomechanics, physiological transport, biofluid mechanics and the development of an artificial lung.
