Guardian: MPs warned against 'wrecking' foxhunting bill

Margaret Beckett, the environment secretary, said that defeat for the government's compromise proposals would jeopardise the entire hunting bill. Gerald Kaufman, a veteran Labour MP and opponent of foxhunting, claims it's procedural blackmail to tell MPs that they either have to let the bill through or risk losing a ban, and that he doesn't believe Margaret Beckett wants to do that.
