Vidalia, Louisiana

Named for Don Jose Vidal [March 12, 1765 - August 22,1828] Commandant at the Post in Vidalia, LA, and he continued as Spanish Consul at Natchez after the Spanish evacuation. He served as governor of Natchez Spanish District in 1798.
