U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC)

The Army's principal materiel developer. Headquartered in Alexandria, VA, AMC accomplishes its mission through 9 major subordinate commands that direct the activities of numerous depots, arsenals, ammunition plants, laboratories, test activities and procurement operations. Manning these organizations are about 65,000 dedicated employees, both military and civilian, many with highly developed specialties in weapons development and logistics.
