Professor of plasma physics and optics, Bucharest University, a corresponding member of the Romanian Academy of Sciences. Research interests: electrical discharges in gases, plasma physics, atomic and molecular collisions, laser spectroscopy, x-ray sources and gamma-ray induced emission.
