Study of the Zaïrian tropical forest: mapping of the vegetation types and understanding of the local factors of change

This paper includes maps of vegetation types in the Democratic Republic of Congo's humid tropic forest along with calculation of deforestation rates and discussion of the relationship between roads, population densities, and forest degradation in four test sites.
