The McMaster Nuclear Reactor (MNR) began operating in 1959 as the first university based research reactor in the British Commonwealth. Today our users range from students, academics, and small businesses to international industry leaders. McMaster decided to keep its reactor open because its unique combination of facilities, skills and people fills a real need to match student learning with research and industry.
