Discalced Carmelite Friars - Australian Region (OCD)

The Discalced Carmelite Friars and Nuns is a religious community within the Catholic Church. Founded in Spain by St Teresa of Avila and St John of the Cross in the sixteenth century as a reform of the twelfth century Carmelite order, to restore the original contemplative and eremitcal focus of the order.
